Charleston Animal Society offers free adoptions for some dogs due to overcapacity

There’s good news for Lowcountry residents who have been considering adding a four-legged friend to their family! The Charleston Animal Society announced Wednesday all dogs one year old and older are free to adopt.

Unfortunately, the reason for this is the shelter is over capacity and has no cages left, they announced on social media.

The dog Charleston Animal Society featured in their social media post and in the photo above is named Didgeridoo. He was described as “such a sweet boy and I nothing (sic) but positive news to say about him. I was very impressed with how he did on his leash: minimal pulling, and non-reactive to barking dogs, police sirens, and bikes- very impressive.”

The dogs the shelter has available for adoption can be found on their website.

The Charleston Animal Society is located on Remount Road in North Charleston.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
