BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A cat was killed while four dogs were rescued following a house fire Friday morning in Monroe County

According to a release from the Monroe Fire Protection District, on April 11, firefighters were called to the 6900 block of South McCormick Lane, near South Fairfax Road in the town of Sanders, on a report of structure fire.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they saw flames coming from the residence. Because a portion of the home appeared boarded up, firefighters were initially unsure if anyone was inside the home.

During the primary search, firefighters safely rescued four dogs. Unfortunately, firefighters also found a cat inside the residence that was pronounced dead. The four dogs were taken to an animal shelter for the evening.

Firefighters then attacked the fire and were able to get the blaze under control “within minutes.”

The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters later learned the home was under renovation and noted structure sustained significant fire damage. MFD says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
