Capital Humane Society reduces dog adoption fees amid capacity issues

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Capital Humane Society has lowered adoption fees for all dogs to $100 from Thursday through Sunday due to overcrowding concerns.

The Admissions and Assessment Center is at 95% capacity for dogs with only three open kennels, and the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center is at 100% capacity for dogs.

The Capital Humane Society said it is essential that they free up kennel space and the public can help by adopting, fostering and just spreading the word.

Available animal profiles and foster applications can be found here.

The Pieloch Pet Adoption Center’s hours are:

  • Tuesday-Friday – 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday – Noon to 5 p.m.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
