DAYTON — Can you help provide a foster home for some dogs?

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton (HSGD) is looking for special foster homes for some dogs dumped at an animal shelter, according to a social media post.
As previously reported by News Center 7, the humane society asked people for help identifying a man who allegedly abandoned a crate with seven sick puppies outside their facility earlier this month.
Surveillance video showed a man dropping the puppies off in freezing temperatures.

All the puppies were sick with highly contagious parvovirus.
HGSD said on its Facebook page that three dogs could not be saved. Four saved dogs need special foster homes.

“We do not recommend someone who has small puppies in their home to foster, but people who have just cats can be an ideal home to temporarily house them as they continue to heal and grow so that they can then be entered into our adoption program. This is a short-term foster experience, and we will provide you with everything you need to make this a successful experience,” said HGSD.
