How to register my pet with the city of Des Moines?
Des Moines requires annual tags for pets. Owners must apply for the 2025 city registration before March 31. This allows the city of Des Moines to contact the owner immediately if a missing pet is found, according to city’s website.
You can register your dog or cat that is over six months of age on the city of Des Moines’ website. Cats and dogs that are spayed or neutered only pay a fee of $15 per animal, while pets that are not fixed are $35 per animal.
