Caddo Parish will be offering free rabies vaccines to dogs, cats and ferrets: What to know

• Caddo Parish is offering free rabies vaccinations and microchipping for pets.
• The event will take place on April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Summer Grove Baptist Church.
• This service is free for Caddo Parish residents and available for dogs, cats, and ferrets on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are your pets vaccinated for rabies? Well, if you are a Caddo Parish resident the parish will be offering free rabies shots and free microchipping.

According to the Caddo Parish Department of Animal Services and Mosquito Control, this free offer is an effort to protect the area’s pet population.

This free event will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Summer Grove Baptist Church located at 8924 Jewella Ave.

Shots will be given to dogs, cats and ferrets, and are free, but first come, first serve.

Shots will be a one-year rabies vaccinations. The only requirement for this free offer is that the pet owners must be a resident of Caddo Parish. 

There will also be pet education handouts on low cost spay/neuter services and mosquito and heartworm prevention.
