The owner is offering a £10,000 reward for information which leads to an arrest
Burglars stole a number of “high value items” after breaking into a home through a skylight. The thieves placed a ladder against the side of the house in Alderley Edge before climbing onto the roof.
After breaking into the house the burglars ransacked it for items such as jewellery and more than 100 “rare and one-of-a-kind designer handbags”. These included a gold watch and a number of unique Hermes handbags.
The thieves are then believed to have made their getaway along Macclesfield Road.
Following the burglary the victims, who do not wish to be identified, are offering a reward for any information.
They have said they are offering £10,000 through their insurance company for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the theft.
Police are also appealing for information including CCTV footage following the incident, which happened between 7pm and 11pm on Monday February 17.
Detective Sergeant Laura Fox, of Macclesfield CID, said in a statement: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us.
“The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV which might aid our investigation.
“We also want to hear from anyone who thinks they may have information regarding the whereabouts of the items that were stolen.”
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Cheshire Constabulary via the website or call 101 and quote IML-2034130
