Bull Dogs go 1-2 in LN Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS — The Columbus North boys volleyball team went 1-2 in Saturday’s Lawrence North Invitational.

The Bull Dogs beat Lawrence North 25-18, 25-20 before falling to Homestead 25-9, 25-16 and Harrison 25-14, 25-15.

Kota Kondo led Columbus North (5-11) with 40 assists and six aces. Leo Iorio pounded 21 kills, Noah Dornfeld had four blocks and Yoki Murabayashi notched 20 digs.

Also for the Bull Dogs, Yuta Kondo recorded 15 kills and 12 digs, Dornfeld tallied eight kills and Juan Jose Salcedo Calderon and Anyu Gong each had three blocks. Iorio added 17 digs and four aces, and Hank Lin served five aces.

“They’ve improved a lot in the last four weeks,” North coach Jeff Case said. “I’m happy with what we’re doing. It may not be the outcomes we wanted, but we are getting better.”
