COGGON, Iowa — A building fire in rural Linn County could have turned tragic Wednesday evening, but quick action by the owner saved several dogs.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says crews were called to a fire at 2061 Coggon Road around 8 p.m. When they arrived, a metal building housing multiple dogs and kennels was in flames.
Officials say the owner managed to rescue all the dogs before firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported, but the building suffered major damage.
Authorities believe an electrical issue likely caused the fire.
