Rockland High soccer’s Tommy Hynes has a second gear off the pitch
Rockland High’s Tommy Hynes is a three-sport athlete. The junior is currently a member of the Rockland High School soccer team and also played for the school’s basketball team last winter. But the third sport he participates in doesn’t involve a net or a hoop. When he’s not kicking a soccer ball, or shooting a basketball, Hynes is on two wheels flying around racetracks throughout New England as an amateur motorcycle racer. Competing in his first full year of racing, he took off quite literally in 2024, winning two amateur championship races after moving up from Novice.

93-year-old woman pulled from burning condo in Stoughton. How’s she doing?
Firefighters pulled a 93-year-old woman from a burning residence in Stoughton Thursday evening, according to reporting by WCVB. The two-alarm fire broke out at a condominium complex on Greenbrook Drive. The elderly woman was airlifted to a hospital. Stoughton Fire Chief Michael Carroll told WCVB that the woman is alive and in the intensive care unit.
