Bowie County Deputies arrested Stuart Duncan Hammonds, 24, of Simms, TX, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, after investigating reports of missing dogs in the area. Investigator Michelle Carrier gathered information from social media and met with a victim who suspected Hammonds. Deputies visited Hammonds’ property and discovered the odor of decaying animals, finding 7 carcasses and skeletal remains of 12 dogs, some with signs of gunshot wounds.

Further investigation revealed Hammonds killed four dogs during arguments with his girlfriend. Authorities found he acquired the animals through social media or picked them up loose in the area. Hammonds faces 12 counts of animal cruelty, and his bond is set at $100,000.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
