BOCA RUDETON: Dogs In Publix, Loud Airport Talking, Crazy Parking

Boca Rudeton
From dogs in stores to selfish parkers, it’s Boca Rudeton for Sunday, April 6th, 2025.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Rudeton took a few weeks off but the tips never stopped. Welcome to this week’s edition of the column that focuses on the rude people who believe they can do whatever they want to do. From bringing dogs into Publix and Dunkin, to parking wherever they want, to yapping on a speakerphone in an airport lounge. It’s time for Boca Rudeton!

Our tipster says this man was told to leave Fresh Market on Military Trail in Boca Raton after entering with a dog. Dogs are not allowed supermarkets in Florida — or most of the United States.

We start with a round of applause for the manager of the Fresh Market on Military Trail in Boca Raton. That’s where our tipster tells us the man, above, walked into the store with the dog. Within minutes, the man was apparently told to leave the store, because pets aren’t allowed. We are pleased that finally someone is enforcing the rules and laws that many area stores say they enforce but never do. Hopefully it sends a message to the whack jobs out there who believe it’s okay to bring a dog anywhere. It’s not.

Apparently rules don’t apply to the woman above with her dog in the Publix at the Fifth Avenue Shops in Boca Raton. Pets are not permitted in supermarkets.

It was apparently a different story at the Publix at the Fifth Avenue Shops in Boca Raton. That’s where Ms. Sweatpants decided it was okay to come on in with her dog, despite huge signs that say no pets are allowed. Maybe the ball of fur provides lifesaving care that it is highly trained to perform. Or, maybe this girl just decided that rules don’t apply to her so she can do whatever she wants. We hope that what she wants is to learn how to read — so when signs say “no pets allowed,” she appreciates that words have meaning.

Publix No Pet Signs
This sign appears at Publix all over the State of Florida.

We move on now to the Escape Lounge at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. That’s where the woman, below, apparently decided it was okay to have a FaceTime call for everyone to hear. We’ll just call her “Ms. Clueless.”

%%
“Hi, my name is Clueless! What’s your name?!”

Ms. Clueless was so clueless that she apparently didn’t pay any attention to all of the other people working or speaking quietly, as she was too engrossed in her conversation on speakerphone. Our tipster doesn’t know why Escape Lounge staff didn’t tell her to be quiet. Apparently many people wished that they did. We note that Escape Lounge entrance is largely for people with Amex Platinum Cards, proving again that money and class are not related. (We also note that the Escape Lounge really isn’t nice).

We don’t know if the food is good at Paris Baguette on Federal Highway in Boca Raton, but we do know that dogs aren’t supposed to be inside…

From the airport to Paris Baguette on Federal Highway in Boca Raton. That’s where this man apparently believed it was okay to have his dog in a restaurant where food is served to humans. While the glazed donut looks good, and we always enjoy a cup of coffee, there’s nothing good about a dog being at a table in a restaurant. Not only isn’t it allowed in Florida, but it’s gross. Our tipster didn’t know if the man was asked to leave by management. It certainly would be in the restaurant’s right to tell the man to leave or to have him trespassed.

Just Salad or Just Selfish? You decide.

And at Just Salad on Glades Road near the new Whole Foods, the woman in Valentino sneakers apparently isn’t connecting the dots. What dots? Ahhhh…the dots that if you’re so concerned about health that you’re ordering salad, that maybe bringing a dog into the establishment sends a mixed message. Here’s a message that isn’t mixed: dogs aren’t allowed in restaurants, supermarkets, or establishments like “Just Salad.” Maybe the restaurant needs to be renamed: “Just Selfish.”

And we wrap this week with an incredible parking job. The Mercedes with Florida license plate QELV51 has managed to park in a spot that isn’t a spot. We’re not sure what’s confusing about white diagonal lines next to blue lines for a handicapped spot, but apparently it’s all confusing for the driver of this vehicle. Again, Mercedes with FL plate QEL-V51, you’ve parked illegally.

So who is our Boca Rudeton winner of the week? It’s Just Selfish! Yes, the woman with dog at Just Salad at 9674 Glades Road is our Boca Rudeton winner. Regular readers of our column know that we don’t really give prizes, but if we did, it would unquestionably be some brown paint for those white sneakers — kind of a scarlet letter sort of signal to all that this woman really wants everyone to know she has a dog and will bring it everywhere. It’s what dogs tend to leave behind that we believe is something she should proudly display on her Valentino sneaks ($249.99 at Saks). Congrats!

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
