Blaze Jordan continued his hot streak with a two-run home run but it wasn’t enough as the Portland Sea Dogs lost to the Altoona Curve, 4-2, in an Eastern League game on Tuesday in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Jordan, who was named the Eastern League Player of the Week on Monday,hit his sixth homer of the season in the eighth inning. He extended his on-base streak to 13 games and has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games.
Altoona jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning on Sea Dogs starter Blake Wehunt. Tres Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly in the second, then Shawn Ross and Termarr Johnson droves in runs in the second. Nick Cimillio hit a solo home run in the seventh for Altoona.
Wehunt went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits. He struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter.
