To help introduce the community to their foster dogs, Black Dog Animal Rescue has started a new program, called Walk-In -Wednesdays.
“We want our dogs to find their best homes, we just figured this might be the best way for people to come and see them,” said Paige Russell, Marketing and Development Manager for Black Dog Animal Rescue.
The rescue has about 50 dogs in foster care, and usually meeting them requires an appointment, this program allows a more accessibility for adoptions.
“We’re always adding more dogs into foster care, and we’re just trying to get them adopted in ways that is nice for them,” said Russell.
Adoption applications usually take a couple days to approve, but if you’re interested in adopting, you can bring in proper documents on Wednesdays to streamline the process.
And if you’re not interested in adopting, they are also looking for more foster homes.
“Opening up your home means that you could let in an animal for like 2-3 months until they can get adopted, and that is really helpful for saving their lives,” said Russell.
There’ll be about three or four dogs every Wednesday until the end of the year, for people to come visit, play with, and consider adopting.
