A tribute has been paid to the “sweetest and kindest” retired search dog after he passed away.
Paddy “went to sleep for the final time”, Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs team said in an online post this week.
He had been “affectionately known as Gobby” as he would announce his presence at training or a callout to “anyone whether they wanted to listen or not”.
“Paddy was a firm favourite of many, both in the team and amongst our followers and supporters,” the volunteer team said.

The service added its thoughts and love were “with his handler Judith and family”.
“The sweetest and kindest of dogs he will be sorely missed by everyone,” the post said.
“He leaves a huge hole. We will always remember you very fondly.”
