If you have room in your home and in your heart for a furry friend, consider being a doggy superhero and visiting the WaterFire Arts Center on June 15 for the twentieth Always Adopt Super Dog Adoption Day. This semi-annual event is the largest adoption event in New England — it’s easier than ever to find a dog perfect for your family. This is a great way to give a rescue dog a second chance at a fur-ever home.
“Super Dog Adoption Day is an incredible event that is not just about finding homes for furry friends,” says Amanda Gaccione, Media Contact for Always Adopt, “It’s about igniting hearts, building families, and celebrating the boundless joy that comes from giving a deserving dog a second chance at love.”
Just want to go and get some puppy love, or unsure if you are ready for a dog? This event is free and family friendly. Or do you have a specific breed, size or fur type in mind? Check out the website and fall down the rabbit hole of cute pictures of the dogs that will be at the event. Find one you fall in love with immediately? You can always apply for them specifically online.
Twelve reputable Rhode Island rescues will be participating in this year’s event, including Rhode Home Rescue, Charleston Animal Shelter, Animal Rescue Kingdom, Save One Soul Animal Rescue League, Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA), Anchor Paws, Save a Lab, Animal Rescue New England, East Greenwich Animal Protection League, Deez Louise Dogs and more.
More than 7,000 dogs have found their forever homes through past Super Dog Adoption events. This year, more than 300 will be available for adoption. You can adopt and screen all in one place. Want to speed up the process with a Golden Ticket? Visit the website to know what to bring, and how to best prepare to bring your new best friend home.
This event will be happening from 12 to 4 p.m. on June 15. If you just cannot wait to find your perfect companion, you can visit the website and get a Golden Ticket which will allow you in at 10 a.m., as well as allowing you to submit an application early. If you have a dog already, bring them along too so they can meet their new sibling!
