BCSO: Deputy hospitalized after aggressive dog gets loose near Canyon Lake

BCSO said the dogs were taken by Animal Control to a no-kill shelter.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was attacked by a loose dog while responding to a scene near Canyon Lake Sunday afternoon.

BCSO said deputies responded to a loose dogs call on the 13000 block of Elm Forest Drive and made contact with the owner of the dogs.

That’s when officials said one of the aggressive dogs ran through the open gate towards a deputy who fell to the ground. The deputy was bitten on the lower extremities of his legs multiple times, according to BCSO.

Officials said the deputy was able to stand back up and struck the dog with his service weapon, retreating back to his vehicle. Other units arrived on the scene to secure it while waiting on Animal Control.

BCSO said Animal Control arrived at the scene and met with the owners for assistance retrieving two aggressive dogs.

The deputy was transported by EMS to a local hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

BCSO said the owner was given citations and Animal Control is investigating. The dogs were taken to a no-kill shelter.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
