Barking dogs alert family to overnight house fire in Berrien County

BERRIEN CENTER, Mich. (WNDU) – A Berrien County family is crediting their dogs for waking them up early Sunday morning to alert them about a fire in their home.

Firefighters were called to the 8000 block of Eau Claire Road in Berrien Center. They say water had to be trucked in from half a mile away to help extinguish the flames.

We’re told family members had been awakened by their dogs barking, which alerted them to a fire inside their garage.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the garage and spread through the house. It was eventually contained, but not before the house was destroyed.

Fortunately, officials say two adults, along with their grandson and two dogs, made it out of the house unharmed.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
