Authorities say man tortured, killed his dog at Toledo casino

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A man is facing charges after authorities said he tortured and killed his dog at the casino in Toledo.

Charging documents allege Michael Baldwin, 38, of Westland, Michigan, tortured and killed his dog by strangulation at the Hollywood Casino Toledo on Sept. 18. He then allegedly left the dog’s body on the casino property and left.

The charging document said the incident was caught on surveillance footage.

He’s facing a fifth-degree felony charge of Prohibitions Concerning Companion Animals. Court records show police issued a warrant for him Wednesday and he was booked into the Lucas County jail on Thursday.
