At least 3 dogs die in fire east of Colorado Springs near Falcon

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Crews were called to a house fire southeast of Falcon on Friday.

At about 11:40 a.m. the Cimarron Hills Fire Department posted to social media they were assisting the Falcon Fire Department in the 6000 block of Carriage Drive. The area is just west of Curtis Road and between Falcon Highway and Garrett Road.

When 11 News arrived at the scene at about 12:30 p.m., it appeared the fire was under control.

Crews on the scene told 11 News they were called out at about 11:35 a.m. and arrived in about six minutes. A neighbor had spotted smoke on the roof of the house and called 911. Crews learned the fire started in the kitchen and at least three dogs died. The last time this article was updated, two dogs were unaccounted for. There were no reports of any people being injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
