Ashland woman facing animal cruelty charges in relation to three abandoned dogs

ASHLAND, Maine (WABI/WAGM) – An Ashland woman has been charged with animal cruelty after police say she moved out of her home and left her dogs behind.

Ashland Police and State Animal Humane Agents say they searched a home on Fenderson Road several domestic dogs were reportedly abandoned by 38-year-old Miranda Burby.

They say three dogs were showing signs of severe physical neglect.

They say the dogs had no water, food, heat, or electricity and were living in the house alone.

After investigating, authorities say Burby moved out in September.

The animals were treated and are at the Presque Isle Animal Shelter.

Burby is set to appear in court in March.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
