While waiting in line to get frozen yogurt, a woman noticed a huge pup also lining up for his sweet treat, but she did not expect his next move.
In a viral TikTok video shared on Monday by the woman, under the username @pluukinss, the impeccably groomed Alaskan malamute can be seen waiting to get his special treat as his owner holds him on a leash.
Unhappy with the waiting time, the pup initially voices his concerns to the staff, but then, on second thoughts, he takes his chance to get some extra attention from all the other costumers at the shop, who can’t stop giving him praise and cuddles.
“I was lining up for llaollao when I saw this BIG BOI waiting for his order,” says layover text in the clip. A caption says: “When I say this was the biggest dog I’ve ever seen [in real life].”
An article by pet wellness website Hepper, medically reviewed by Dr. Amanda Charles, says that while yogurt itself is not toxic to dogs, it may become so depending on what ingredients are used to make it.
Usually, it’s OK for dogs to indulge in a small amount of plain Greek or frozen yogurt, as long as it doesn’t have xylitol, a type of sweetener that even in small quantities can be fatal for our pups.
Another major problem when it comes to yogurt, as well as ice cream, is flavoring. Anything that contains chocolate or coffee is an absolute no-go for dogs. Instead you can try giving them treats that are plain or fruit infused.
However, beware that not all fruits are safe for dogs either. A WebMD article reviewed by Dr. Amy Flowers says that some fruits are incredibly toxic to canines and can cause poisoning, and seizures.
These include avocado, cherries, grapes (including raisins), and tomatoes. Fruits that you can safely give them instead include apples, blueberries, mangoes, pears, peaches, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, and watermelon.
If you suspect that your pup has eaten something toxic, take them for a veterinary check immediately, don’t wait for symptoms to show. Prompt help can be life saving.
