Arrests made for 2 dogs thrown from Dog River Bridge in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — Two arrests have been made in the investigation of two dogs who were thrown from Dog River Bridge in Mobile on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Tavoris Gallery, 18, and Mary Rivers, 71, are each facing a felony charge of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

Due to the dogs not sustaining any injuries, both suspects were first charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. But they were upgraded to felony charges.

According to Mobile Police, on Wednesday at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers were in the area of Club House Road and Alba Club Road in reference to an investigation surrounding the Dog River Bridge incident where two dogs were thrown from the crest of the Dog River Bridge.

While speaking with neighboring residents, a vehicle matching the suspects’ was spotted by patrol officers.

Officers initiated a traffic stop, and upon further investigation, two suspects were detained.

Gallery and Rivers are currently in Mobile County Metro Jail. Police say this remains an active investigation.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
