
Police have made an arrest in the case of a dog that was found in Schenectady with her ear cut off.
The dog named Lavender was found on the evening of March 29 with severe injuries to her head and face and police responded the following day after getting a call.
Basean D. Brooks, 31, of Schenectady, is accused of walking Lavender to the area of McClellan Street and Eastern Parkway and abandoning her.

Basean D. Brooks, 31, of Schenectady, is accused of walking Lavender to the area of McClellan Street and Eastern Parkway and abandoning her.
He has been charged with overdriving, torturing or injuring animals, as well as failing to provide sustenance. Police have not stated if he is being accused of cutting off the ear. Police told NewsChannel 13 detectives are still actively investigating how the was injured, and they are continuing to ask for the public’s assistance.
