Arrest made after 2 dogs thrown from Dog River Bridge

Two arrests have been made in the investigation after 2 dogs were thrown from Dog River Bridge

According to Mobile Police, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers were in the area of Club House Road and Alba Club Road in reference to an investigation surrounding the Dog River Bridge incident where two dogs were thrown from the crest of the Dog River Bridge.

While speaking with neighboring residents, a vehicle matching the subjects vehicle was spotted by patrol officers.

Officers initiated a traffic stop, and upon further investigation, two subjects were detained.

Tavoris Gallery, 18, and Mary Rivers, 71, were arrested and transported to Metro Jail.

Due to the dogs not sustaining any injuries, both subjects will be charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.

Police say this remains an active investigation.
