SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Sioux City Animal Control is looking for the owners of two German Shepherds after they were found on the loose in the Sioux City area.
Animal control says they received calls from residents and discovered surveillance video showing two German shepherds getting loose from a vehicle on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Control says when officials first attempted to catch the two German Shepherds, they kept running away.
To catch the two dogs, Animal Control worked with trappers from Sioux City’s Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue.
On Friday, Jan. 10, one of the dogs, a male German Shepherd was found on Aztec Circle after being loose for two days. According to Animal Control, officials were unable to get close to the second dog on this day.
The male German Shepherd has now been named Aztec for the place where he was found by Animal Control.
The other dog, a female German Shepherd, was found on Monday, Jan. 21, on Dearborn St. Animal Control says a woman called them after she found the dog in her yard. The dog was on the loose for 13 days.
Animal Control alongside trappers from Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue arrived on the scene and were to quickly catch the dog. The female dog has now been named Desire.
As of now, Sioux City Animal Control is still looking for the owners of Aztec and Desire. If anyone has any information, call (712)-279-6170.
