Anchorage Animal Care and Control is asking for the community’s help after rescuing 71 dogs from what officials are calling a severe neglect case.
Staff say taking in all of these dogs has doubled the shelter’s dog population overnight. The animals were found in conditions described as unimaginable, and neglect charges are currently pending.
Right now, none of the recently rescued dogs are available for adoption. But the shelter encourages anyone interested in helping to consider adopting or fostering other animals currently available, to help free up space.
