Puppies are inbound at Denver International Airport for the 9th annual Puppy Bowl, and this year, Huskies are joining the team for the first time.
The Jeppesen Terminal will host the gathering — inspired by Animal Planet’s wildly popular Puppy Bowl and its alternative Super Bowl programming — from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. The free, adoption-focused event is a partnership with Denver Animal Shelter and all puppies are adoptable, DIA officials said.
This will also be the first time the event has included Huskies, according to the airport.
“Back by paw-pular demand, DEN Puppy Bowl returns to the Jeppesen Terminal for its 9th year before the big game on Sunday!” DIA said in a statement. “Adorable puppies from Denver Animal Shelter will play on a mini football field, and info on adopting them (and other shelter pets) will be available. Plus, DEN CATS will be there as well!”
Animals are a common site at the airport, from traveling pets to DIA’s own CATS program, which stands for Canine Assisted Therapy Squad and which aims to calm flyers’ anxiety. But Puppy Bowl is also available to watch on Facebook, in case you can’t make the adorable gridiron match.
