Abandoned dog in Canton escapes cage only to get struck by driver

CANTON, CT (WFSB) – A dog escaped the cage it was abandoned in only to get struck by a driver.

The 1-year-old terrier mix was found in the woods near the intersection of Route 44 and Sterling Drive in Canton, according to Burlington & Canton Animal Control.

Animal control posted a graphic photo of the dog on Wednesday.

It said he had been left in the crate with some food. However, he escaped and was hit by the vehicle as he tried to cross Route 44.

The dog had no collar, tags, or a microchip.

Anyone with information about his owners was asked to contact animal control at 860-960-6600 or Canton police at 860-693-0221.

Animal control said the dog was not up for adoption yet.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
