A New Birkin-Style Bag Hits Amazon, Weeks After Walmart ‘Wirkin’ Sold Out

The Walmart Birkin went viral on social media earlier this year after savvy shoppers discovered the Hermes handbag dupe on the department store site. Multiple variations of the iconic handbag were sold — and then quickly discontinued — on Walmart.com, after thousands of shoppers flooded the site to add the “Wirkin” to cart.

Now, a similar Birkin alternative has popped up online — this time on Amazon. The best news: this Birkin-style bag is still in-stock as of this writing.

This Amazon seller is listing a Birkin-like handbag, complete with the signature top flap, buckle clasps and structured boxy design. It even comes with a matching lanyard. Inside, find multiple compartments and pockets to help you organize your stuff. At just under 12 inches wide, the bag is ideal for errands and nights out alike.

Amazon says the bag is crafted from genuine leather, and this set includes an adjustable and removable shoulder strap. Amazon has nine colorways available online, though we’re partial to the “elephant gray” shade seen above.

Amazon has a number of other Birkin-style bags online, including this above version which measures just under 10 inches in size and is made from a waterproof cowhide leather and Oxford cloth. The two-tone design adds visual appeal while offering a classic, Upper East Side look. This Birkin alternative on Amazon currently boasts all five-star reviews, with one shopper writing that she was “completely surprised at the quality and craftsmanship of this purse.” This bag is available in eight colors online.

If you want the Birkin look but not an exact replica, Amazon shoppers like the “Lock & Charm” bag above. It measures 12 x 14 inches in size and is crafted from a textured leather with durable stitching and reinforced base for durability.
