Anyone interested in adopting or fostering the pups is being asked to contact animal control.
A “large number of dogs” are in need of new homes in Worcester, police announced this week.
Worcester police issued a call for anyone interested in fostering or adopting the pups to contact animal control, posting a video of the dogs on Facebook on Monday.
“All of these dogs were rescued by the Worcester Police Department,” the department said with the video.
Worcester police spokesperson Joe Cersosimo told MassLive that 15 dogs are up for adoption and so far, a number of people have reached out to help. The animals had either been surrendered to police or picked up off the street.
“It’s just our way of getting it out there that these dogs need loving homes,” Cersosimo told MassLive of the recent Facebook post.
As of Wednesday evening, the video had been shared almost 2,000 times and had 400 comments.
Anyone interested in helping the dogs through adoption or fostering is being asked to call Worcester Animal Control at 508-799-1211.
