Calls began pouring into the Arapahoe County dispatch center around 10 a.m. Tuesday reporting a dog running in traffic on eastbound I-70 near E-470.

“Traffic was backed up to East Colfax Avenue for about a quarter-mile while drivers tried for nearly 30 minutes to catch the pup,” the sheriff’s office said. “One good Samaritan somehow managed to corral the dog and get him on a leash.”
The pup was then put in the back of an Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy’s car, where he sat safe and sound until animal control officers could get on scene.
