TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A person suffered serious injuries after being attacked by several dogs in Tallahassee Sunday morning, according to a Facebook post by the Tallahassee Police Department.
According to the post, officers were called to South Lipona Road near Jackson Bluff Road just before 11:30 a.m. Sunday regarding an animal attack.
TPD wrote in the Facebook post, when officers arrived, they found the person had serious injuries, “from bitten by several dogs,” but the person injured is expected to survive their injuries.
Police went on to say witnesses who saw the attack described seeing 4 to 5 dogs involved, and the dogs ran before officers got to the scene.
Around 1:00 p.m., police said four dogs had been found and taken into custody by animal control, however, officers said one dog may have still been on the loose based on witness statements and urged people to be cautious, do not approach them and call police if they saw a loose dog.
TPD also asked people to be aware of surroundings Sunday afternoon, especially with the Capital City Marathon going on in the area.
Later Sunday afternoon, TPD provided an update saying all dogs linked to this incident had been caught.
It’s unknown what type of breed of dogs were involved in this incident.
TPD is also asking you to call (850) 891-4200 if you see any loose or aggressive dogs.
