PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Burgers and dogs. Not talking about hot dogs but dog dogs.
John Lee Mazda on 15th Street in Panama City partnered with BFF Animal Rescue to bring K-9 friends to the community. BFF is a foster organization and was conducting the first steps of the adoption process at Saturday’s event.
To incentivize visitors to adopt, John Lee Mazda also sponsored 50% of each adoption fee to make the adoptions more affordable.
Employees of the car dealership say they plan on having these sorts of events more often.
“With this group in particular, we are probably going to be doing these events up until the summer. At least probably one a month and then when it cools back down again just so we don’t have the animals out in the heat and everything. Go back to doing these events again once it starts cooling down into the fall, winter and stuff like that too,” said Michael Fowler, car sales manager.
Along with the 14 dogs that were at the event, there were burgers on the grill and a special setup for Valentine’s Day photos of our furry friends.
