GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. – The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office says one man has been charged in a deadly animal abuse case in Vienna Twp.
On January 19, 2025, Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a home in the 11200 block of Langdon Drive for a report of two dogs left abandoned by the previous homeowner.
Two dogs were found inside a garage, locked in cages, without food or water.
The dogs were covered in feces and urine.
One of the dogs appeared to be suffering from starvation when found by police.
The dog had open sores on its legs.
A veterinarian ordered the dog to be humanely euthanized.
The other dog, now named Baxter, is available for adoption at Genesee County Animal Control.
The individual accused of abandoning the dogs has been identified as 33-year-old Jeremy Justin Neph.
According to the sheriff’s office, Neph has been charged with one count of killing and torturing an animal, a four-year felony if convicted of the alleged crime.
