LAUDERDALE CO., Ala. (WAFF) – Approximately 82 dogs were confiscated from a house in Lauderdale County on Tuesday night.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Joe Hamilton says deputies and animal control went to the home located on County Rd. 6 based on a tip.
The tipsters stated there was a large amount of animals not being properly taken care of.
When officials arrived the resident was not home but when they peered inside a shed by the house they saw numerous dogs. Due to living conditions, there were numerous dogs per cage.
The dogs were seized based on their welfare concern for them.
They were transported to a shelter where they will be checked out by a veterinarian.
The health of the dogs will be evaluated and then it will be determined if the resident of the house will be charged.
At this time no one has been arrested.
