(Cottonwood, MN) — A southwest Minnesota man and his dog are recovering after their vehicle went through the ice Monday morning on Cottonwood Lake. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the 68-year-old man and small dog were pulled from the water by a local resident and firefighters. The man was taken to the hospital and his dog was brought to a veterinarian. Sheriff’s deputies are reminding people that ice conditions can vary across frozen bodies of water.
