RIGHT NOW WE’RE STILL WAITING TO GET MORE CONFIRMATION ON EXACTLY HOW MANY ANIMALS WERE INVOLVED, HOW MANY ANIMALS WERE LOST IN THE FIRE. WE DO KNOW THAT AT LEAST SOME OF THEM WERE SAVED, THAT SOME OF THE GOOD NEWS SKY FIVE WAS OVER THE SCENE WHEN IT STARTED ABOUT 7:00. LOOK AT THE MASSIVE FLAMES THAT WERE COMING FROM THIS. WE TALKED TO A VOLUNTEER. THEY TOLD US THE BARN WAS LOST AND THAT’S ACTUALLY WHERE THEY HAD A LOT OF THEIR SUPPLIES, LIKE FOOD AND LEASHES. SO VOLUNTEERS ARE HOPING THEY CAN GET SOME HELP. The flames spread to adjacent buildings. Sky 5 Pilot Chase Rutledge said the rescue is the Fur Ever Friends Rescue. A friend told KOCO 5 that the rescue’s owner saw smoke in a storage barn, called 911 and went to save the dogs. Police said a number of dogs were saved, but some were killed in the fire. The rescue’s owner suffered smoke inhalation but is expected to be OK. The dogs who were saved are being relocated to another animal rescues. The flames destroyed the storage barn, and everything in the barn is gone. Fur Ever Friends Rescue is now in need of donations.
