Oversized knits, white tees with just the right crew neck and tailored trousers – the fashion set flock COS stores for its minimalist, high-quality basics. Another category that shouldn’t be overlooked is its accessories offering. From statement earrings that rival designer jewels, to some of the season’s most sought-after scarves (let’s not forget COS was quick onto the triangle scarf trend with its brushed cashmere number), the brand has really upped its game.
Over the last few seasons, it has dropped not one but three It-bags. First was the half-moon crossbody, which caused quite the stir on Instagram. Then came the quilted carry-all, which was praised for its pretty but practical design and sparked many high street iterations. When COS released a £225 leather bowling bag as part of its AW24 collection that closely resembled The Row’s Margaux bag, which retails upwards of £3,380, it sold out instantly.
Those who signed up for the restock alerts – or who’ve scrolled through the new-in section on the COS website this week – would have spotted the brand has finally brought back its designer-passing handbag in the smooth black leather and brown suede colourways that were a hit the first time around, as well as a new burgundy version that we predict will move quickly. (It’s still the colour of the season, after all.)
