BOCA RUDETON: From Speaker Phones To Dogs To Bad Parkers, It’s Season!

All Those Rude People From Other Parts Of The Country Are Here, Bringing Their Rudeness With Them…

%%
From cell phone speakerphone babblers to dogs where they don’t belong, it’s Boca Rudeton for January 19, 2025.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If it’s Sunday, it’s Boca Rudeton day. We have an extremely long list today so let’s get right into it — starting with the first entrant for our new “phone” category. This is dedicated to people who are so clueless, so rude, that they think it’s acceptable to have speakerphone conversations in public.

As we mentioned last week, there’s no expectation of privacy if you’re blasting a phone call for everyone to hear, so feel free to take photos or video and send it our way. Clearly whoever is babbling on their speakerphone wants everyone to know what’s being said. That’s why we start outside the “Prezzo” shopping center at 5560 North Military Trail. It’s where this woman enjoyed her conversation in a public setting. While we’re unsure what she was talking about, we do know it was so important that she needed to blast her speakerphone for all to hear.

%%
Who is she, and why does she think she’s so important that everyone wants to hear her conversation?

We move now to Trader Joe’s in East Boca Raton where our tipster ponders why this relatively cute dog is with this woman in the supermarket. If we said it once, we’ve said significantly more than once: dogs aren’t allowed in supermarkets unless the dog is a legitimate service animal. And it’s a crime to lie about an animal being a legit service animal. Maybe this dog is. Maybe it isn’t. Our tipster wonders. So do we.

%%
Is this a trained service dog in Trader Joe’s? If not, it’s not allowed…

What about this dog at Whole Foods in Delray Beach? Our tipster here asked why this woman needs to go shopping for bread with a dog. We wonder the same thing, and remind her that Whole Foods — like so many other merchants in 2025 — delivers! You don’t need to bring your pooch where it doesn’t belong. The food can come straight to you, and you don’t have to bother other people with your animal.

%%
This dog, and woman, are seen in Whole Foods Delray Beach. One of them just doesn’t belong. Can you guess which one?

The next one is somewhat ironic. The restaurant is called OSHA. OSHA is also the federal agency charged with making sure work places are safe. What do you think OSHA would say about OSHA permitting a dog in a place where food is being served? We wonder if maybe any inspector wants to visit OSHA at 2201 North Federal Highway after seeing this photo.

What do you think about this dog in OSAH restaurant in East Boca Raton? Should someone call OSHA to complain about OSHA?

At Modern Rose restaurant (142 SE 6th Avenue) in Delray Beach, this woman was seen enjoying food with friends and her dog. The friends are fine. The dogs is not. We don’t know why the restaurant didn’t do anything about this, or if workers there sanitized the seat after the dog left.

%%
Do we think Modern Rose in Delray Beach sanitized the seat after the dog left? We’re asking for a friend.

We also wonder about this woman at Trattoria Nonna at 6006 SW 18th Street in Boca Raton. It seems unlikely that a highly trained service animal is going to be sitting on someone’s lap and playing “handsies” at the table. We’re just sayin. Maybe it’s a fully trained highly skilled service animal that really provides a function. Or, maybe this woman is violating codes that say you can’t have a dog in a restaurant.

No, there’s nothing cute about this dog at the table in Trattoria Nonna at 6006 SW 18th Street in Boca Raton. Why is it there?

And we’ll wrap this week with a Toyota in the fire lane at the Michael’s shopping center at Glades Road and Lyons Road in West Boca Raton. It speaks for itself. It’s a car. it’s a fire lane. It’s a car in the fire lane. That’s not allowed. If you happen to see the driver of this car with Florida tag Y69VZW, you may want to mention that illegal is illegal, whether or not you have a handicapped placard dangling from your mirror.

So who is our winner this week? It’s a tough one, but we are going with the woman on the cell phone. It’s just rude to have a speakerphone conversation in public. No one wants to hear it. No one wants to see it. But everyone wants to know why you haven’t connected your phone to AirPods, generic earphones, or even hearing aids if you have them. We don’t really give prizes, but if we did, we would award her a lovely blutooth ear dongle left over from 2008, and a reminder that whether in a shopping center, an airport, strip mall, anywhere: it’s not okay to have a speakerphone conversation. Try to be classy! Just try!

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
