Pawnix Noise canceling headphones for dogs scared by loud noises

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Do you have a dog that cowers whenever there is a loud noise?

A dog who trembles during thunderstorms and fireworks show?

Me too.

The News Dog may scare the heck out of the Ups guy, but thunder and fireworks ruin him.

Well, Spots and I have been trying out a cool invention to solve this problem.

Whether it’s the Fourth of July or New Year’s Eve, we love our fireworks in Michiana.

You know who doesn’t like fireworks? This guy. The News Dog.

Kirsten Brand had the same problem with her elderly dog named Emma.

“And she actually ran away back in 2017, like busted through doors to get away from a fireworks celebration, so her hearing has gotten worse as she’s gotten older, so I think it was more severe. Luckily, I got her back and tried everything that I could find on the market, and nothing worked for us. One day I was traveling with my old job working for a pet care company and I just put my own Sony on her and was holding her when were on a plane because she’s also scared when they slam the overheads. And I was like this works,” said Kirsten Brand.

What followed was Brand’s invention called Pawnix Noise Cancelling headphones.

For months now the News Dog and I have been experimenting with these.

Now here’s the thing about the News Dog anytime there are fireworks or thunderstorms, this guy turns into goo and just shakes. Now in the past before we had this Pawnix device I would just wrap my arms around him and hug him real tight during the melee.

Full disclosure, it has taken months of treats to get spots to keep his Pawnix headphones on, but now he is willing to wear them.

Because they are Bluetooth enabled, Spots is listening to a Spotify selection of white noise.

The white noise and the headphones made it impossible for spots to hear the fireworks during a recent fireworks show around the new year.

Simply put, it was a breakthrough.

The breakthrough hadn’t happened yet when I interviewed Brand.

Give me your assessment of how successful this device is at making dogs feel better during a thunderstorm or fireworks show. A lot of dogs, a lot of pet parents have given us videos and stories back about how over time their dog will actually ask for it when a thunderstorm is coming.

Spots and I haven’t gotten to that point yet, but the device clearly gives this big bully dog comfort when the world gets loud.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
