All people at the home safely evacuated and were uninjured, but three pet dogs were killed in the blaze, the fire department said.

The fire department estimated the fire caused $100,000 in damage.

The American Red Cross is assisting the home’s temporarily displaced residents, the fire department said.

Crews from Woodland, University of Minnesota Duluth, Lakeside and downtown stations responded to the fire. The Duluth Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
