LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – Authorities in Livingston County, Kentucky are currently searching for the suspect of an animal cruelty investigation.
According to the Livingston Co. Sheriff’s Office, the Animal Control Division of the department launched an investigation after multiple dogs were abandoned at a home in Smithland back in November 2024.
Authorities reportedly found the animals confined in a camper without adequate food, water or ventilation.
Two dogs were dead when investigators arrived, and a third passed away within 24 hours despite receiving care.
As a result of the investigation, a warrant has been issued for 44-year-old Regina Tackwell on twelve counts of second-degree cruelty to animals.
The sheriff’s office is actively searching for Tackwell and needs the public’s help.
