Four dogs die, three others rescued from Mexico, Mo. house fire

Three dogs were rescued and four others died in a Jan. 10 house fire in Audrain County.

The Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) reported that an off-duty firefighter saw smoke coming from a home in the 1200 block of Hendricks Drive.

Crews responded to the area around 11:44 a.m. on Friday where they discovered the fire coming from the basement.

MPSD noted that the flames were extinguished but the home suffered moderate smoke damage.

No one was home when the incident occurred, but several dogs were inside during the fire.

According to a press release, three dogs were rescued and turned over to Mexico Animal Control for care. However, four others died as a result of the fire.

After further investigation, firefighters believe that the fire started in an area of the home where multiple electronics were plugged into a power strip and the cords were covered by personal items.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
