‘Old Dogs Go to Helen’ in New Hampshire is Literally Doing God’s Work

Helen St. Pierre started fostering dogs over 18 years ago. She gradually discovered the desperate need for organizations that support senior dogs. One by one, she began taking in senior or hospice dogs thus Old Dogs Go to Helen (a Senior and Hospice dog rescue and sanctuary) was born.

All animals deserve  a soft place to land until they are ready to pass on and that is exactly what Helen provides. She pays for all the medical and comfort care these dogs need while they are still with us. They undergo any treatments, diagnosis work or surgeries they might need not to mention a never ending supply of chicken nuggets!

For clarification, this is not a shelter and none of these animals are available for adoption.

Old Dogs go to Helen is a sanctuary and the animals are there to live out their final days in peace, comfort, and happiness.

According to the Old Dogs Go to Helen website, there are currently 15 dogs under their care. You can meet the current residents of ODGTH here.

At the end of last year, the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill locations in Somersworth and Concord teamed up to help Helen and her efforts in a very profound way.

Both locations participated in a round up program where customers chose to round up their total and  the difference was donated to All Dogs Go to Helen. The amazing teams at DQ were able to present Helen with a check for $7,942.50!

Helen and some of her residents went to Dairy Queen this week to redeem their check and of course some pup cups as well:

Andy from Contoocook, New Hampshire sent us this message after hearing us talk about Helen on the morning show today:

“My wife and I have been going to Helen for dog training as well but we’ve also always supported her with every fundraiser she does. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you ever have the chance to be in the same room as her you’ll see first hand the love and positive energy she brings into the room.”

Helen seems like an actual angel on earth. Helen, if you are reading this, consider this your formal invitation to come on Kira and Logan in the morning and talk more about the important work that you do here in New Hampshire.

Please consider checking out Helen’s page and donating so she can continue to help more elderly doggies in our community here.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
