One dog dies in Escambia County fire; rapid response prevents spread to nearby homes

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — An Escambia County mobile home suffered damage from a fire on Sunday night.

It happened around 10:49 p.m. at the 7600 block of Shamrock Drive.

Firefighters arrived at a fully involved mobile home fire with reports of dogs inside the burning structure, according to Escambia County.

Firefighters retrieved two dogs and placed them into the care of Animal Control to receive care for burns.

Escambia County reports that one dog passed away.

The situation was brought under control by 11:27 p.m. The rapid response by ECFR prevented the flames from extending to two nearby mobile homes.

ECFR conducted the investigation and determined a propane space heater caused the fire.
