The Mary Persons girls basketball team is 5-7, 3-2 in Region 2-AAA after going 1-2 last week. The Lady Dogs beat Spalding at home to improve to 3-2 in region on Thuisday, Dec. 19 in a 62-39 trouncing. But MP went winless in the first annual Rosemary Walker Tournament. The girls lost to Jasper County 64-27 on Friday, Dec. 20 and to Lamar County 66-36 on Saturday, Dec. 21 in the consolation game. The margin of the Jasper loss was perplexing since the Lady Dogs had lost to the Lady Hurricanes only 49-46 a week earlier, on Dec. 13. The girls are off until they host Trinity Christian on Jan. 3.
