A 10-year-old reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas when he generously decided to use his Christmas cash for dogs in need.
Instead of spending his Christmas gift money on himself, Isaac chose to use it to help care for animals at a local shelter. He bought dog food and treats for the shelter’s animals.
CARA is a no-kill shelter located in Jackson.
“When a child chooses to spend their Christmas gift money on helping us take care of our animals, that’s about as sweet as it gets,” shelter staff shared. “Isaac, we are so thankful for your compassionate heart! You made our day with your visit.”
Isaac’s generosity didn’t stop there. During his visit, he visited all of the dogs waiting on their forever homes and said he wished he could take them all home with him!
One of the animals he met was Sophia, a 6-year-old dog staying at the front desk while receiving treatment for GI issues. Despite her health challenges, Sophia was all smiles as she received love and attention from Isaac.
Isaac reminded the world that love and generosity are two of the most important things about Christmas. He was an example to not only other kids but adults as well!
The shelter thanked Isaac and invited him to return, saying,
“It brings great comfort to know that you are our future and that of the animals. We hope you have the best Christmas, and we also hope you come back to visit with some of our babies!”
In a season filled with giving, Isaac’s selflessness truly embodies the spirit of Christmas. Thank you, Isaac, for making a difference!
