CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. – A Cherokee County-based animal rescue is working to find a new home for a dog after her owner, an Air Force veteran, reached out for help.
The veteran, who has been living in his car, contacted Semper Fi Legacy Rescue for assistance, explaining that he could no longer provide food or care for his beloved dog. In response, the rescue organization temporarily placed both the veteran and his dog in a hotel and provided groceries, dog food, and toiletries.
Although heartbroken about giving up his companion, the veteran expressed hope that a family can offer the dog a better life.
Semper Fi Legacy Rescue is now searching for a loving home for the dog.
