Slain dog is subject of cruelty probe

WESTPORT, Pa. — A Labrador Retriever found slain last 150 miles from its home in Clinton County is the focus of an animal cruelty investigation, state police said Sunday.

The 11-year-old dog was found dead in Dauphin County on Tuesday with a gunshot wound to its neck. State police said they have a suspect in mind, but they have not disclosed their identity.

An investigation remained ongoing Sunday, state police said.

The dog’s owner, a 33-year-old man from Westport, let his dog out Monday shortly before 6 a.m. The dog never returned.

A search turned up blood, dog hair and other “biological matter” at a neighboring property, state police said. Eventually, that led investigators to a property in Dauphin County, where they found the dog dead a day later.

State police asked that anyone with information to contact Trooper Christopher Moore at 570-726-6000.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
